Welcome to Landin
It is said that the village Landin was founded by von Bredow who fell out of the devil's sack.
(see "Why does one always encounters the name Bredow).
In reality the village was first mentioned in 1353 as fiefdom of Wilkin von Bredow. With short interruption the village stayed with the family von Bredow.
A branch of noble family constructed here a palace at the beginning of the 18th-century and so Landin became the centre of their dominion in the region. Unfortunately it burned down at the end of the 2nd World War. Today statuesque beeches at the listed palace grounds invite visitor to a stroll and reflection. The Landiner Lake with its abundance of fish and many water birds are well worth a visit.
